Sharon has been attending MPS board meetings for years and speaking out about important issues in our district like academic achievement and parental rights. As an educator, she understands the issues our teachers face in the classroom and in the district. She will be able to address solutions to fund classrooms, not systems, and help retain talent for MPS. We want to see our student outcomes improve and see our students succeed. Sharon is the right person for this task!

I am proud to endorse Sharon Benson for Mesa Public School Governing Board! As a teacher in the district, she has the knowledge and experience that's necessary to bring change to the culture of the district and restore honor to the teaching profession. As a parent, she has the compassion to rebuild trust and transparency for families who continue to choose MPS.

As a parent, Sharon Benson witnessed how the district treated her children and participated through volunteer work and parent organizations. As a teacher, she nurtured and developed young minds and was an intricate part of their education. Sharon has been a strong member of the community from both sides of Mesa Public Schools. Throughout the ever-changing dynamics of public education, she has stayed strong in her beliefs and kept politics out of the classroom. Most recently Sharon has become more involved by attending nearly all the school board meetings for the past couple of years.

Seeing hypocrisy in policies and guidelines, Sharon has been speaking up at many meetings only to find her concerns falling on deaf ears. She expressed to me on numerous occasions her concerns and her desire to make a difference in the district. As a 30-year veteran teacher myself - knowing Sharon's character, her commitment to her values, her work ethic, and her knowledge of the school system - I can't imagine a more qualified candidate for this position. Sharon will be instrumental is helping raise education standards back to the level we know MPS is capable of.

I fully endorse Sharon Benson, Candidate for Mesa School Board.

When I began teaching, state reading and math achievement levels were well over 55% for most school districts. This is nothing for which we should be proud; it is merely a marker to illustrate the desperate situation that we must recognize is taking place in our schools. A recent state test revealed third-grade students in one of our MPS west side schools meeting expectations of reading at a level of 7%. Check the data; it should be available. One person who has been checking the data and for whom this is unacceptable has recently announced her candidacy for the MPS School Board.

Sharon Benson has been working as a teacher and as an advocate for Mesa's children for several years. She is upsetting everyone who wants to maintain the status quo in our education system. I've listened to some intellectual educators slander her name publicly and privately when she casts light on the practices that are hurting our children. Some people seek to "go along" to make others happy; others seek to gain power and perceived status.

Sharon Benson is a true servant leader who only desires to protect our children and our school communities. She will think and act with fairness and integrity. She will not back down when pressured. She is your true advocate.

I wholeheartedly endorse Sharon Benson as a candidate for Mesa School Board!

My husband Brad and I whole heartedly endorse Sharon Benson for the Mesa School Board. We have known Sharon for 20 years, since we first moved to Arizona. Both in business and her personal life, she displays the utmost integrity and her word can always be trusted. As an educator, her goal is to provide the best opportunity for children to succeed. She believes that every child has the capacity to learn and should be guaranteed a right to be taught in a safe and caring environment, enabling them to achieve their God-given potential. The status quo in our education system today is not acceptable to achieve those goals.

Sharon is the perfect candidate to be a powerful advocate for children and for the rights of their parents
